Richard Bigelow has been playing bass since age 15, starting in high school jazz band and earning top honors at the Abbotsford Jazz Festival. He went on to tour with multiple bands before joining the hard rock/metal group Paladin, building a reputation for powerful, locked-in playing.

 

After taking time to focus on family, he spent over a decade performing with Radio 80 and Sin City, playing top casinos, fairs, and festivals. Now with his new band Top Shelf, Richard brings that experience into a blues-rock mix of original music and select covers.

 

Influenced by players like Geezer Butler and Steve Harris, he delivers a tone that’s both heavy and musical. He jokes he’s “the world’s most okayest bass player”—but his groove and stage presence say otherwise.
