Charlie "Tas" Judd

Charlie "TAS" Judd is a 3rd generation drummer and is also 2nd cousin to "Wild" Mick Brown of Dokken and Steve Brown who is currently on tour with Tesla. Finally taking the drums seriously at 20 years old, he began taking lessons from local drum guru Jay Douglas. It wasn't long after sitting in on jam nights and then filling in for Ready Made Family and Just Dirt that he took over the drum throne in X35 and then followed up with being a founding member of Old School Drop Outs (O.S.D.O.), both of which he still currently plays in today. Mid-Life Crisis was another local favorite band he played in for a few years along with helping form The Chris Jones Band, which was an award winning trio coming out of Puyallup Washington. While CJB is on hiatus, TAS joined up with Monty Ray and added Rich Bigelow to form Top Shelf, which is a new powerhouse trio consisting of original rock, blues and funk song along with many favorite cover songs from the same genres. Catch us playing around the South Sound. Top Shelf is currently working and recording their debut album which is due out later this summer! Charlie's drumming influences include Deen Castronovo, Buddy Rich, Dave Weckl, Aquiles Preister and Tommy Lee! Tas has been a longtime endorser of Scorpion Percussion drumsticks, SoulTone cymbals, Cympad and is also a Sullen Clothing brand ambassador. His current gear includes Pearl Masters Maple series drums in Chestnut Fade, DW 9000 pedals and hardware, and Roc-n-Soc nitro drum thrones.
